A disastrous bridal shower toast leads to a crisis for two longtime best friends. A story about the hard choices that some women in their 30s face, and the friends they rely on to get through it

Starring Annie Savage and Ellen Schoeters. Featuring the song “I’ll Eat Your Heart” by The Brambles. Part of The Smile! Project series of shorts (read about the series).

I was lucky enough to work with Annie years ago in a sketch group, and her ability to finely play the entire spectrum of emotions and hit every joke along the way never ceases to amaze me. She was my dream MJ. And Ellen was a lucky find, coming indirectly through the great directing teacher Judith Weston. Her warm presence, empathy, and actor’s intelligence lit up the screen just like Judy should. This story of friendship and mistakes and hard choices is partly about my gratitude for my own best friends, who have forgiven every mistake and been there for every milestone.
